You’ve got a product. Maybe it’s a craft you make at home, maybe you’re a full-on business that just hasn’t developed an online presence yet, or maybe you’ve got a website but you don’t want to pay the $$$ to create a storefront for it. Whatever the case maybe, if you can sell online, you should make every effort to do so. That’s where Facebook and ShopTab come in.
Hopefully you’ve got a fan page for your small business on Facebook. If not, start here. Once you’ve learned the basics, you can explore ShopTab. ShopTab is an application that creates a tab on your fan page so that your fans can shop your products without even leaving Facebook or your fan page.
The cost is $10 a month – much cheaper than building your own online storefront. Once you go through the process of setting up your account, you’ll need to create a spreadsheet in Excel with your merchandise and its detailed information. You’ll also need to have pictures of your product(s) available online – so you may want to get acquainted with Flickr as well.
After you’ve created the initial spreadsheet, it’s very easy to maintain as you add new products.
